A Great Handwriting Program
We used A Reason for Handwriting last year. My son really liked decorating the pages and the people he gave them too really enjoyed them. People commented on his beautiful handwriting which greatly improved with this program. When it came to ordering a handwriting program this year he specifically asked to do A Reason For Handwriting again. It is an excellent program.

I am using JUMP at Home Grade 2 with my 8 year old daughter who has been struggling and not progressing in math. This program has been successful in helping her grasp concepts that she was unable to comprehend with other programs. Although the workbook pages are simple and straightforward, I have found that the teacher’s manual has been very beneficial and has helped my daughter by giving her added practice and additional information. The manual may be copied for free on the JUMP website. I have found that by including Daily Word Problems Grade 2 and Addition the Fun Way! to help memorize facts is providing a good foundation for my student that has always found math very difficult and confusing.

You are making me a loyal customer
This is the second year I have purchased curriculum packages from Timberdoodle for my 3 boys and once again I am not let down. This package does a great job of covering 95% of the state standards. It looks like an overwhelming amount of books but takes no more than 2 hours at most including breaks. The short lessons in each book keep things moving and interesting and a must with moving little boys. Good quality package. I am happy everyday I get this opportunity.

Fun way to learn history
I purchased How to Draw the Life and Times of Abraham Lincoln because it was a combination of history and art. When I got it, I was concerned that my boys would freak out a little because some of the drawings are rather challenging (and art is not our strong point), but they are learning a lot about the presidents and they are having fun with the drawings. Some of our drawings of people look a little unsophisticated, but it’s been fun to challenge ourselves.

Perfect for Young Children
I purchased Little Annie’s Art Book of Etiquette and Good Manners for our two little girls’ homeschooling curriculum this year… they absolutely fell in love with it from the very first day! “Little Annie” is so sweet and whimsical as she demonstrates manners, kindness, and proper etiquette, all while presenting Bible truths and teaching fun art lessons. The book seems mostly geared for girls, but our preschool age son enjoys the art projects as well. I love how these fun art lessons are laced with Scripture! This little lesson book covers everything from how to set a proper table to how to be a gracious friend. Highly recommended.

Challenges the “norm”…
This is our first year homeschooling our 2 school aged daughters who have already been in public school for a few years. I was so frustrated with how “cookie cutter” public education was, especially when it came to creativity. When I saw this book (Daily 6-Trait Writing Grade 2) I though, “huh, what good will such short lessons do?” I couldn’t have been more wrong!!! These short lessons do NOT take much time but they DO get your child thinking outside of the box and paying more attention to the ins and outs of writing. My 2nd grader is surprised by the challenge, but I love to see her rise up and face it. Thanks for such a great product!

Word Fun
I never studied Latin or Greek, but what can be more fun than submarine means ‘under sea’? So, we have a lot of fun making a game of the cards. My daughter was 8 when we started. We put photos next to a lamp for ‘light’ and we put tele on a shelf far away for ‘far away’ and then put skopeo under reading glasses for ‘examine’ etc, etc, and then we say what the words mean and then make full words ‘telescope’, ‘telephotos’ and say what they mean. It is a lot of fun, but not enough cards. So I am ordering the second set. You need the book for looking up on what card a word is located (saves a lot of time, plus the author will inspire you for the reasons to study word roots). We also make some cards for Latin/Greek roots not in the set. My son is 5 and he is captivated by the fact that Tyrannosaurus Rex means ‘King of the Tyrant Lizards’.

Wow! I was so impressed with this book. Anatomy and Physiology can be so complicated, yet this book broke it down perfectly for my 5th grader and I was floored at how easily he retained the knowledge presented. This was the first time I bought the notebooking journal because I knew I wouldn’t be able to give him as much help this year. I now plan to buy the notebooking journals for this series for my younger kids as well! It really helped to expand and cement the material. I have sold all my other science curriculum and moved solely to Apologia! The personal style and way things are explained work so well for our comprehension!

This is a MUST for every homeschooler!
I have already recommended this curriculum to many of my friends! The teaching approach makes complete sense. I never thought how difficult it would be to learn and hold information with a spelling test done with many different words that have absolutely nothing in common. This approach is based in word families and going over different variations of the words through out the week. My daughter is 7 and loves that even if she doesn’t know a particular word, she can make an educated guess based on the other words in the list. This system has really given her the courage to make those guesses, with a high chance of her being correct.

My son hates writing but he loves math…unless you make him write all the answers. If you make him write he will tell you he hates math! Enter The Verbal Math Lesson! What a refreshing little book! We have both actually! The are a great solution to the boy who hates to write! We snuggle on the couch and “do math”. I feel the books are more than fairly priced. They are a wonderful addition to math and really meet my son’s needs for quality time and physical touch as we sit together and learn to LOVE math!! Thanks, yet again, Timberdoodle for bring a company I trust!
