We started out the school year using different curriculum but needed to step up the work just a bit and came across this website and this package was exactly what I was looking for. I had other parents recommend the same books Timberdoodle did so I knew their recommendations were reputable. All of these books are wonderful. I have organized our week so we do the work in about 45 minutes a day which is perfect for this age. Timberdoodle has always done a wonderful job answering all my questions in detail. I absolutely love this website and the packages they have put together. We will be back next year for first grade and soon to add another child. I do supplement a bible lesson and have fun Fridays with additional games to supplement this package as it really covers the core subjects. Thank you so much.

Character Quality Language Arts Pre A

I have done alot of research on language arts programs for my 9 and 10 year olds. I kept coming back to CQLA. First I purchased the teachers manual. Then I went onto their website and used the program for a month printing off the weeks as we went. Having the 4 day lesson plans made it a no brainer to set up each days work using dividers for each day in their binders. The answers were clear and it was great to have all of the optional suggestions to add challenge, interest or additional practice. English is my weakest subject and CQLA is just the best program I have come across with all of the skills being incorporated into one program. To have their hearts turned to God as they learn how to communicate is awesome. It does take us longer to complete the sections than stated in the manual but we are enjoying the program so much it has not been a concern or problem. We look forward to completing CQLA for the remainder of our homeschooling years.

The Sam Campbell’s Wildlife Series consists of high quality stories for children who love nature.  My children love hearing about the adventures of the animal characters, and as a parent, I appreciate the more advanced vocabulary and writing style as compared to many modern novels.

Character Quality Language Arts

Character Quality Language Arts rolls many aspects of L.A. into one package and challenges the learner to reach beyond their current level.  Character is heavily emphasized and brought alive by the research into influential Christians.  My daughter is learning to research, and to write simple essays in the very first level.  For the person who wishes to go beyond the daily work, there are many sidebar suggestions for extras that would be wonderful to do given lots of time.  If you don’t have the time, the essentials are still covered very well.

I have seen my high school aged son go from one who needed constant prodding to get his work done- to one that is up and ready to go with the Switched On Schoolhouse on program. The programs is so easy to set up and keeps all the records for you. The computer based program is just what he needed. He is motivated, working independently, and best of all learning so much. I am so impressed and thank God for this curriculum. The cost for the whole subject grade can’t be beat. Love it!!
