Extremely Wonderful!

My older sons LOVE the Extreme Dot-to-Dot books. It was very disheartening to see them "out-grow" doing dot-to-dot books. Although they still loved them, the typical dot-to-dot books were just to easy for them. I was thrilled when I Read more

And I thought dot-to-dot was for little ones!

My older (4th grade and up) children LOVE these Extreme Dot to Dot Animals books! They take them in car rides and ask to do them to unwind from regular school work. They are so fun because, unlike simpler Read more

Mind Benders Beginning Book 1

Great Intro to Thinking Skills! Having never attempted any thinking skills type books, MindBenders were a great way to ease into them. Each puzzle gives the student a select amount of information in which he must use inference to deduct Read more

Macbeth - Graphic Shakespeare Graphic Novel

As a literature major in college, I developed quite the affinity for The Bard. However, I have never agreed with the notion that Shakespeare plays should be read as they were written to be performed. But managing to take Read more

Heidi – Audio Book

Heidi - Audio Book

Delightful! This is beautifully simple audio story. The narrator drew us in and held us captive. My children are 7, 5, 3 and 2.5, they all sat and worked on puzzles or hung on the couch listening. We cried with Heidi when she missed home, laughed at the scampering goats and learned compassion as Heidi saved her rolls for Grandma. My children are asking for “more stories!” Thanks Timber!! Highly recommend.

AMAZING!! Big Bag of Science

Big Bag of Science

I can not tell you enough how neat this bag of science truly is! It arrived today, and my two girls ages 9 and 12 were thrilled with what was inside. I carefully took the time to read the very nifty instruction booklet that came with it. Then I went through the supplies to make sure they were all in the bag. We will be starting the first several of these next week in our homeschool. I am certain that these will be very hard not to do all in one sitting!! It is SO NICE to have everything in one bag. The only things you have to add are items that are likely in your kitchen. The girls especially can’t wait to make soda shoot six feet into the air. Sounds super messy, but great fun for all of us. Thanks Timberdoodle. This was our first order, but we will definitely order again :)

EDTOY MagnaMobiles Construction Set

EDTOY MagnaMobiles Construction Set

A great way to use

When I first saw this set (EDTOY MagnaMobiles Construction Set), I knew that I had to order it for my 3 year old son who loves vehicles. I gave them to my son for Christmas and they were a hit. He loves playing with them and trying to create different vehicles. They were such a hit, that I ordered the second set for his birthday, Christmas day. I love that the magnets stick the pieces together while playing, but are not at all difficult for him to remove and change. These vehicles will be played with for some time to come and have been played with daily since received on Christmas Day.

Toddler Timberdoodle Core Curriculum

Toddler Timberdoodle Core Curriculum

Toys That Grow With Them

This set (Toddler Timberdoodle Core Curriculum) is full of toys that are fun & challenging. At 23 months, some of them I’ve set aside for later on in the year (which was my plan) because my daughter isn’t really ready for cutting, or the LUK set I’m guessing. Everything that came out of the box of was of very high quality and I was glad to have everything in it! As she plays with some of these toys I’m seeing how long they will last. She’s using them in their most simple application right now, and I can’t envision her outgrowing them even by 3 in almost all cases!

The Reading Lesson Book

The Reading Lesson Book

Beyond Wonderful!
If the creators of this book (The Reading Lesson Book) need a spokesperson, I am perfect. My first year homeschooling, I ordered a curriculum package from another company. What a complete and utterly awful mistake. I ended up having to pay a teacher to help catch my daughter up in reading. It was not an option, we had to try something else, especially for my next homeschooler. This book made teaching to read childs play. I can’t tell the creators of this book thank you enough.

Trucky 3

Trucky 3

Great, like everything Timberdoodle sells!

Surprise, another great find by Timberdoodle!  I got this (Trucky 3) for my 3 yo to give us something fun and new to do during Christmas break.  He likes it a lot, but it’s a bit hard for him.  I think 4 and up will probably be better.  It’s very nicely made.  The only thing I can say is the games from this company (Smart Games) don’t come with good storage.  With all these little parts, I’m going to need to make a bag or something.  They come in a cardboard tray, but you’ll never get them back in the trucks like they were, at least I won’t, lol.  If you have a child who has done vision therapy and needs more work on visual perception, they’ll find this very challenging and beneficial, even if they’re older.

The Mystery of History: Reproducibles CD Volume 1

The Mystery of History: Reproducibles CD Volume 1

All the reproducibles on your computer!

If you are like me the thought of going to a copy store to be ready for school next week is not high on my list of fun things to do. Mystery of History is a great program and the Mystery of History Reproducibles CD makes the program even better. It is so easy to open and print what I want when I need it. I love having the access at my fingertips instantly. Highly recommend adding this if you are using Mystery of History.

Pathway Readers Third Grade Set

Pathway Readers Third Grade Set

I was trying to find a reader that my 8 year old boy would enjoy. After reading a lot of reviews I decided to give the Pathway Readers a try. He loves them! The books are well within his grade level. I love how the books talk about different values. It’s started a lot of great conversations with us!

B Pop-Arty Beads

B. Pop-Arty Beads

B. Pop-Arty Beads

A favorite with my boys!

B. Pop-Arty Beads are a favorite with my two boys (ages 4 and 2). I bought another set of larger beads for my toddler, but he can’t connect them as easily as he can the Pop-Arty Beads. My boys connect them in all sorts of ways and will wear them or pretend they’re trains or other things. The beads do smell a bit unpleasant, but that does slowly fade and it hasn’t fazed my children in the slightest. These beads are very popular, but especially with my 2-year-old. I recommend them for an indoor activity on those wet or excessively hot days.
