We are just about ready to start our fourth year of homeschooling, and we are so excited that we found Timberdoodle! Our two-year-old BEGS for her “school” every day, even on weekends, and she likes to read her Timberdoodle catalog right before bedtime. Wahoo - The happiest, jumpiest, bounciest puppy ever.

My little ones have been burning up a lot of extra energy with this puppy, which is a very good thing as we have been very snow-bound all winter!  Our youngest named it “Rover” (how original!) and it has been dragged and loved on all over the house. It is definitely lots of fun for little, energetic legs.

Wow, this (Building Thinking Skills Beginning) book is full of wonderful exercises for even the youngest children. My daughter just turned 3 and she can’t wait till schooltime so she can do “her school” which is this book. I was amazed at how much she could comprehend at such a young age. The exercises are worthwhile and will lay a foundation for learning. A definite worthwhile purchase, I was skeptical with the price tag significantly higher than the Kumon Books, but it’s been worth the difference.

We received our Bubber three days ago. It has already provided HOURS of hassle-free entertainment for our boys, aged 9 and 6. They say it’s like cotton candy and Delta sand mixed. I’m glad to say it isn’t near the mess that Delta sand is..or cotton candy for that matter I find it irresistible, as well – before I knew what my hands were doing, I sculpted a turkey and carved it. You simply cannot go wrong with this stuff.

I just rec’d an order from you, which included Inchimals. Let me tell you a little about why I am so impressed…….

I’m the mother of 8, with 6 still at home. I homeschool my children, and 4 of them happen to have Down syndrome. Jenessa, my 10 yr old (with DS) is a whiz on the calculator, but has a hard time understanding how/why numbers added together equal another number. She can add 38 + 99 on her calculator and give you the correct answer, but it really has no concrete meaning for her. After playing with Inchimals just once, I actually saw that she was UNDERSTANDING the addition concept, the “why” and “how,” and I was blown away by how quickly she picked it up!! WHAT AN AWESOME GAME!!! I can’t wait to play it more, and introduce it to my younger children. I think it’s going to help all of them grasp concepts that have alluded them for so long.

My almost-three-year-old boy has loved this book!  We limit ourselves to three activities a day, as recommended, but I allow my boy to glue scrap pieces of paper at random after we finish the defined activities.  Over the past month, his gluing skills have grown tremendously, including being able to accurately judge how much glue he will need for each piece.  I like this book better than the Kumon pasting book, which is smaller and seems designed more for younger toddlers (nearer age 2) than for older toddlers.  At any rate, there are a wide variety of activities – shape matching, following instructions, solving puzzles – and attractive artwork in the Big Skills line, and I will definitely purchase more of these books for my kids!

I purchased Wedgits years ago from Timberdoodle. From an educator’s point of view, this is definitely the best toy I’ve ever purchased. Age doesn’t matter with these things!! My husband and I enjoy them as much as my children (ages 3-12) do! I took them to our church for our AWANA program and it occupied the children for the whole handbook time as we worked with them individually. Wedgits can be stacked or turned. There is something about their shape that fascinates. Wedgits are AMAZING!!

Developing the Early Learner

These books are pretty good. They’re black and white, so they aren’t visually interesting, but most of the exercises are pretty good. They’re best for students who are ready to ‘do school’ with formal seat work but who aren’t ready to write well.

It’s FUN SCHOOL!

I prefer this series (Never Bored) over all the other cut/paste/trace/color/sequence/etc. books we’ve tried. The title doesn’t look or sound like school, but it covers those basic skills. My daughter did these on her own when ever she wanted to, and they lasted through a year plus. A must have!

The Big Picture Story Bible

I love this (The Big Picture Story Bible) book! I have a copy for myself whenever young ones are visiting and I need something to read. I have purchased 3 copies and will continue to purchase this book as I need any gifts for a young one. I appreciate the truth in the message from beginning to end. I have also given a copy to a child whose parent I have been evangelizing. The price is good and very well worth it.
