I can not tell you enough how neat this bag of science truly is! It arrived today, and my two girls ages 9 and 12 were thrilled with what was inside. I carefully took the time to read the very nifty instruction booklet that came with it. Then I went through the supplies to make sure they were all in the bag. We will be starting the first several of these next week in our homeschool. I am certain that these will be very hard not to do all in one sitting!! It is SO NICE to have everything in one bag. The only things you have to add are items that are likely in your kitchen. The girls especially can’t wait to make soda shoot six feet into the air. Sounds super messy, but great fun for all of us. Not just for Grade School and High School Students

This DVD series is not just for grade school and high school students. I purchased this DVD from Timberdoodle when I signed up for a Biology class in college. I used the DVDs to understand the topics covered in class. At the end of the semester, I ended up getting an “A”. I recommend this DVD to anyone who is has a hard time understanding topics in Biology or is one of your weak areas. This DVD presents information that is well organized, simple and easy to learn. Also, it is mixed with a bit of humor so it’s fun to watch.

The Big Bag of Science is a wonderful bargin!  There are so many fun experiments that it is hard to keep the kids to save some for other days.  Some experiments do built off each other so watch out you dont throw anything away that you will be needing.  I would recommend this kit to any parent!

Still provides hours of enjoyment for my children!

My son asked for this book (Naked Eggs and Flying Potatoes by Steve Spangler) for his 12th birthday and says it was one of the best gifts he ever received. He does experiments out of it all the time. I have had many science experiment books around the house for years, but my children never took an interest in them like this one. My kids, 10, 12, and 14 are always trying something new out of this book and calling us in to see their amazing new find. They have the best fun with it! They are able to do most of the experiments on their own with things that I really do have around the house. I can’t say enough good about it! I am planning to buy another copy or two to give away as gifts.

We purchased two of these (Jumbo Magnifier by Learning Resources) for our toddler twins, and haven’t regretted that purchase for a second! From the large size, to the jumbo handle, this is truly rough and tumble and well suited for toddlers to use.  One of my twins would sit for the longest time staring into it, moving it around, looking at things closer, and further away.   And i suspect this will be something they play with for years to come, just in different ways.  The attached thingy that holds a paper close to the magnifier broke on one of mine- but we don’t really use that part anyway, so its function is still retained.  So if you have REALLY rambunctious toddlers- you may have that problem but overall this thing is as strong as steel.

I have to say that I am VERY impressed with the 4-D Human Skin Anatomy Puzzle. I teach nursing as well as medical terminology at the college level. I planned on using this with my children, but I am going to take it in to the college students as well. The detail is absolutely amazing and will give my children and adult students a truly amazing picture of the skin. Definitely an excellent buy!

Learning so much!

I bought this series (Body of Evidence Curriculum – Set of 8 DVDS) for my 13 year old son but I’ve learned a great deal myself.  I’m an EMT and I wish I had access to these DVDs when I was taking my EMT classes. The good doc has a real gift for explaining things simply and clearly. I love his use of “props”. It’s especially good for the visual learner. Excellent series indeed!

This DVD (Evolution: The Grand Experiment DVD) is an excellent tool for providing children and adults with the biblical perspective on creation. In Evolution, the Grand Experiment, secular scientists acknowledge the obvious problems with evolution. The material accompanies any science curriculum well; we have used it with God’s Design for Life to discuss the amusing historic understandings of spontaneous generation and other flawed concepts of the natural world. Anyone wishing to be informed on the creation/evolution debate should watch this and read the book as well.

We bought this (OLLO Action Kit) for our science loving 7 year old for his birthday.  It is like an erector set with a battery pack.  We knew it was going to be one of those toys where an adult would have to assist in the building of it, but that was ok with us.  Right away our son and his dad built 2 of the creations: the windmill and the puppy.  The fact that the battery pack makes them work (backwards and forwards) was great fun.  He was proud of himself for being able to mostly build it.  I hope to buy an additional set for Christmas.   This will be a toy that will be played with again and again.

It does have small pieces, but afterall, it is recommended for children ages 8 and up.

I won’t use anything else!

Last year was the first year we tried the (Apologia) notebooking journals, and it was with this one – Human Anatomy and Physiology. I won’t turn back! I used to have the kids take notes and verbally answer some random questions. How boring! This was EXACTLY what we needed to add to complete our science curriculum. My 5th grader remembered SO much more because of this journal and it is something we will keep for review. WELL DONE! I need these for all my subjects!
