Third Newly-Minted Penny Releasing Today

August 2, 2009, marked the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln penny, and today the third of four special-edition pennies is to be released.

Originally produced with Lincoln’s likeness in honor of Lincoln’s 100th birthday these coins now celebrate both his 200th birthday and the 100th anniversary of the first Lincoln penny.
