—New Additions—
96-Piece PuzzleBall Globe
This PuzzleBall globe replaces the GeoPuzzle Animals puzzle as what we feel is a better fit for this grade.

Jump Math 1
Mathematical Reasoning First Grade
This is the biggest change in this grade, as we move away from Horizons math for the first time. Horizons is an amazing, fast-paced program for children who love math. We have seen, though, that children who struggle with math concepts seem to struggle with Horizons. Since Mathematical Reasoning does not offer enough drill to be considered a complete program after Kindergarten, we stayed with Horizons knowing that it was still the best on the market, until now.

This year we discovered Jump! Math. Starting in first grade, Jump! complements Mathematical Reasoning perfectly. Jump’s mastery approach leads children sequentially through math concepts, helping even the most reluctant scholars become skilled at math while those children already gifted at math will thrive on the lack of busy work.

Mathematical Reasoning adds more than just variety; because of its emphasis on thinking skills your child will be seeing the same math concepts from an entirely different angle without tedium – how perfect!

Smencil
A fun scented pencil to make writing just a little more exciting for your student!

Timberdoodle’s Scheduling Helps folder
Upgraded to the 2011 format to make it easier for you to reference and use.

Horizons Math
As noted above, we pulled it out simply because we felt it was too fast paced for some children. If your child thrives on it we would be delighted to customize a curriculum for you and add this back in instead of the new programs. Just give us a call or drop us an email!

GeoPuzzle Animals
Originally removed due to availability issues, we have since found what we feel may be a better puzzle and have permanently replaced this with the 96-Piece Puzzleball Globe.
