My name is Lauren. I’m a mother of 3. My husband works nights, so we have an unusual schedule. We have a 4 1/2 year old boy, who loves to learn, and loves to talk. We also have a 2 1/2 year old girl, who loves to be girly and dress up, and also loves to fight her older brother. Both of them love to hug and kiss their new brother who is almost 2 months old. We live in New Hampshire.
My oldest is always the first one up, he comes and wakes me up when his clock turns green, at 7:00. Then we go find breakfast and wait for Sister to wake up. I feed the baby. We close Dad’s door, so he can sleep in.
The kids and I watch a show while we eat breakfast.
Then we sit down at the table and work on some school. We love the kits Timberdoodle has put together. We get the paper work and workbooks done as quick as we can and use the games and toys and Legos as rewards for getting the boring stuff done. All the while hoping the baby is peaceful enough to let us finish.
After that, we start making lunch. We eat our big meal at lunch time, so we can have a nice family meal every day, because that is when Dad is home.
The kids wake Dad up, and we tell him about our day.
After lunch is over the kids nap. Mom and Dad get to spend some time together before Dad goes to work.
When the kids wake up we try to clean the house a little bit and do some laundry.
Sometimes Grandma will come over and play. Sometimes we will go for a walk. And sometimes we go to the grocery store.
Today we just played more with our school toys and built some monsters. The kids ran around and chased each other, while Mom tried to get the baby to sleep a little because he was grouchy.
For dinner today we had turkey sandwiches and oranges.
Then, since it cooled down outside, we went out to play in the new sandbox that Grandma and Grandpa bought for the kids.
After that it was definitely bath time. We had to wash our hair twice to get all the same out of it.
In order to relax we watched a show and enjoyed some cuddles on the couch. Then it was off to bed.
I get to stay up with the baby for one more feeding. I’ll put him to bed, and hope that he sleeps 8 hours again like he did last night.
Dad will come home around 1:00 in the morning so I get to watch whatever I want on Netflix while I’m cuddling the baby.
